Linnell's journey through breast cancer has been a complex and challenging path. Diagnosed in July 2018 with invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), and stage IIIC inflammatory breast cancer, Her2+, she faced a rigorous treatment regimen that included six rounds of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, approximately 35 rounds of radiation, and a radical hysterectomy.

Throughout her treatment, Linnell encountered various treatment options, yet she quickly realized that the conventional approach of implants was not suited to her needs or desires. This decision marked an important step in her healing process, reflecting her commitment to embracing her body and her experience as a survivor. Seeking alternatives to implants opened the door for exploring different reconstruction methods, allowing Linnell to align her physical transformation with her sense of self.

Her story is a testament to the resilience of breast cancer survivors and the importance of personalized care in reconstruction options. By sharing her experience, Linnell aims to empower others who may feel uncertain or overwhelmed by the choices available to them post-treatment.
